Start-rite and the National Schools Partnership have developed ‘Step in the right direction’ curriculum-linked educational resources, designed to make kids in KS1 and Reception more active.
Produced by specialist teachers and kindly supported by Start-rite, these easy-to-use, flexible teaching tools will help you and your colleagues bring lessons to life in an engaging and fun way. The aim of the resources is to promote healthy and active lifestyles both in school and at home.
This project aims to help teachers deliver against both National Curriculum objectives within a variety of topics as well as government agendas such as; Healthy Schools, The Obesity agenda & Extended Schools. The resources will also provide ideas and solutions to help teachers work towards the 5hr Physical Activity target.
The resources also highlight how schools can get additional funding from Local Authorities to help fund activities such as the walking bus.
These resources can sit within PSHE, Science, Literacy, Maths, Geography, Art and D&T and will help you to deliver several areas of the National Curriculum.
Below you can download all of our fantastic teaching resources which will allow you to run this project in your school.
Please allow a couple of minuteswhile the resources download to your computer.
