Win £1000 for your school and one of your pupils could even be flown to the Beijing Olympic Games!
The countdown to the 2008 Olympic Games is on - and you could help one of your pupils be a Beijing champion! Visa Olympics of the Imagination is a fun cross-curricular art competition, created by Visa for 10 to 14-year-olds.
The Olympic Games 2008 - One World, One Dream
'One World, One Dream' is the theme for the 2008 Olympic Games. We're asking pupils to think about what that means and how the Olympic Games helps unite cultures from all over the world. Then we want them to express their ideas creatively - either by drawing them on a sheet of A4 or A3 paper, or by using ICT software and burning their creation to disc. They will also need to explain the thinking behind their drawings, in less than 50 words, on the downloadable sheet, found here.
After the closing date (31st March 2008), we'll select 12 regional winners who will each receive £1,000 to spend on art or sports equipment for their school. One of the lucky 12 will then scoop first prize - and be flown out to Beijing (along with a parent or legal guardian) as a guest of Visa to see their design exhibited as a flag at the Olympic Games.
Cover your curriculum objectives, too!
