National Schools Partnership is delighted that Virgin Holidays is supporting this activity to help pupils understand about the environment and sustainability at home and abroad.
Virgin Holidays is continually striving towards making its holidays more sustainable and recognises that responsible business practices towards the environment and the communities within which the company operates are key to ensuring this.
The company's initiatives to improve sustainable tourism include auditing and improving supply chains for sustainability performance, working with responsible tourism charities such as The Travel Foundation, who help care for the places we all love to visit, and ensuring that head office operations are as green as possible.
In addition, all profits and dividends that Virgin Group receives from Virgin Holidays, Atlantic and Trains (estimated to be £3bn over the next 10 years) are ploughed into research and investment to develop sustainable sources of energy, to help combat the threat of global warming.
The deadline for registration is friday 16 May 2008
