Read
together
Aimed
at pupils between the ages of five and nine, learndirect*
has produced a book, Where did the river go?,
written by BAFTA award winning writer Peter Corey, to
encourage parents to read with their children. The book
is fun and engaging and features puzzles and clues to
challenge and interest children throughout. In addition,
the book will help parents understand if they have a literacy
or numeracy need and provide sensitive encouragement for
them to think about acting on this.
National
Schools Partnership has also created curriculum linked
activities to use in class to accompany the book to
engage the children with "Where did the river go?"
and its characters - so that they want to read it at home
too.
