Lavie arrived in Northern Ireland scared and alone, barely speaking English and with no one to talk to. But her determination to succeed helped her to re-adjust to a new way of life and set up as a hairdresser.

With a good sense for business, Lavie spotted a gap in the market and got in touch with The Prince's Trust. She set up a business using the skills she had gained growing up, on braiding hair and extensions. Now her business is a shining success, with two flourishing salons.
