Welcome to the Smart Mouth resources page. Due to the success of last year’s resources, National Schools Partnership and LISTERINE® Smart Rinse are working together again to provide new & updated 2009 resources free to schools. The KS2 ‘Smart Mouth’ resources have been written and designed to help pupils learn about better oral hygiene and discover lots of fascinating mouth facts as well as help teachers deliver against their curriculum objectives.

These resources will help you to deliver several areas of the national curriculum, specifically:
PSHE – Developing a healthy safer lifestyle; Knowledge, Skills and Understanding;.
- What makes a healthy lifestyle, including the benefits of exercise and healthy eating. What affects mental health, and how to make informed choices
- Bacteria and viruses can affect health and following simple, safe routines can reduce their spread
Science - Life processes and living things; Knowledge, Skills and

- Life processes common to humans and other animals include nutrition,
movement, growth and reproduction. About the functions and care of
teeth
- About the need for food for activity and growth, and about the
importance of an adequate and varied diet for health
This promises to be a fun resource that will encourage kids to follow a good daily oral hygiene routine by teaching them fascinating facts about the mouth, and adding a fun and motivational dimension to what is often viewed as a tiresome bathroom activity.
